The Green Bay Packers hosted SMU wide receiver Rashee Rice on an official top-30 visit ahead of the 2023 NFL draft. Rice posted video from his visit to Green Bay on his official Instagram account on Tuesday.
Rice (6-1, 204) caught 233 passes for 3,111 yards and 25 touchdowns over 44 games and 33 starts at SMU. He was a two-time All-AAC selection and a 2022 All-American.
Over his final season, Rice caught 96 passes for 1,355 yards and 10 touchdowns, all career highs. He led the FBS in receiving yards per game (112.9).
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Rice ran the 40-yard dash in 4.51 seconds, hit 41″ in the vertical leap and covered 10-8 in the broad jump. At his pro day, he finished the three-cone drill in 7.02 seconds and the short shuttle in 4.23 seconds. His Relative Athletic Score (RAS) is 9.53 out of 10.0.
Rice was a participant at the 2023 Senior Bowl. He checks all the boxes for the Packers in terms of size, athleticism and production at the wide receiver position.
Dane Brugler of The Athletic ranks Rice as the No. 11 wide receiver in the draft class and the No. 82 player overall, making him a likely Day 2 option.
The Packers are likely to add at least one and likely two receivers in the 2023 draft.
