Packers designate RB Emanuel Wilson, OT Luke Tenuta for return from IR

The Green Bay Packers designated running back Emanuel Wilson and offensive tackle Luke Tenuta for return from injured reserve on Wednesday, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Both can practice with the team over the next 21 days but neither is on the 53-man roster until they are officially activated from injured reserve. The Packers will include both players on the injury report.

Wilson injured his shoulder on Nov. 19 against the Los Angeles Chargers and has missed the last four games. He served as the team’s No. 3 running back behind Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon, a job now held by Patrick Taylor.

Tenuta was carted off the field on Aug. 11 during a preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was kept on the initial 53-man roster but placed immediately on injured reserve on Aug. 31. A sixth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2022, Tenuta arrived off waivers last season and played in three games for the Packers. He could provide additional depth at offensive tackle or possibly even take the roster spot of Caleb Jones, who has only been active in one game this season.

With only three games left in the season and no guarantee of postseason play, it’s possible neither player is activated to the Packers’ 53-man roster.

Wilson rushed 14 times for 85 yards and caught four passes for 23 yards over seven games and 36 snaps on offense.
