Packers add LT Rasheed Walker to injury, list as questionable for Week 6

An injury to monitor for the Green Bay Packers entering Sunday’s showdown with the Arizona Cardinals: left tackle Rasheed Walker was added to the team’s injury report with a new knee injury. He is listed as questionable to play after being limited at practice Friday.

Walker has started all five games for the Packers at left tackle. Veteran Andre Dillard is listed as the backup on the team’s unofficial depth chart. Only Walker has played snaps at left tackle for the Packers this season.

Injuries late in the week can be difficult to manage, both for the player and team. The gameplan is already installed and ready to go, and Walker has less than 48 hours to physically recover and prepare for a game.

Through five games, Walker has allowed one sack and 10 total pressures across 177 pass-blocking snaps played. He’s committed five penalties but has been penalty-free the last two weeks.

Another option at left tackle if Walker is unavailable is first-round pick Jordan Morgan, but he is also questionable to play and has missed two straight games with a re-injured shoulder. Asking him to go play left tackle after primarily rotating at right guard would be tough. Left guard Elgton Jenkins and right tackle Zach Tom both have prior left tackle experience.

In encouraging injury news, the Packers removed tight end Tucker Kraft from the injury report. He will play Sunday. Kraft was added to the injury report on Thursday with a new groin injury.

The Packers listed five players as questionable, including Walker, and ruled out defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt, who has an ankle injury.

It’s possible Walker will be a game-time decision. Inactives are due for the Packers and Cardinals at 10:30 a.m. CT. on Sunday.
