The Packers fell short of expectations in the 2021 playoffs, falling to the 49ers in the divisional round after earning the No. 1 seed in the NFC. With the loss of star wide receiver Davante Adams in a trade to the Raiders, there is plenty of pressure on Green Bay to add pieces to support Aaron Rodgers and boost the team’s status as a Super Bowl contender immediately.
Once again, many expect the Packers to take a wide receiver in the first round, in yet another draft full of talent at the position. Whether that plays out is anyone’s guess, as the franchise hasn’t taken an offensive skill position player in the first round outside of quarterbacks Rodgers and Jordan Love since 2002 (Javon Walker).
