P-plater accused of Knights crowd crash makes bid for release from jail

A P-plater accused of ploughing into a crowd of Knights fans, injuring 10 people, including two critically, has made a bid to be released from jail.

Indika Bambrick Samarasinghe, 18, was arrested at the scene of the horror crash at Wallsend on the morning of Saturday, October 3, as the team was set to depart Newcastle for the NRL grand final.
