Oxford Street bombshell as Labour chief describes Sadiq Khan quango as 'dangerous for democracy'

The unelected quango set up by London mayor Sir Sadiq Khan to pedestrianise Oxford Street is “dangerous for democracy”, according to a leading Labour councillor.

Geoff Barraclough, Westminster council’s cabinet member for planning, delivered his bombshell remarks during a meeting of the newly-formed Oxford Street development corporation at City Hall on Friday morning.
