The cost of a Blue Peter badge could be up to several hundred pounds.
Just last week Blue Peter's time capsule was opened on ITV show This Morning after being underground for 40 years. Blue Peter had put together a special box of goodies representative of 1982 as a gift for the people of today, including things such a script from the show, crisp packets, an old film reel and multiple music records.
The This Morning team reburied their own box to be opened in 2068 but included an item oddly missing from the original, a Blue Peter badge. The badge was an item handed out to guests on the show or anyone who contacted with art, pictures, stories or other content for the show.

Today the value of a Blue Peter badge varies drastically depending on what kind you have as multiple were produced for different situations including Olympic events and golden anniversary editions.
A standard badge won't bring in too much money as they can be bought easily on eBay for as low as £5. A step up is the Blue Peter 50th anniversary edition which can sell for anything around £40 - £60.
The 2020 Olympics version is one of the heftier items as it currently sells for £100 online. At a similar price point sits the limited edition Ed Sheeran music badge which was designed by the musician himself in collaboration with BBC Music Day.
The most expensive versions are some of the original batches from when the show first launched in 1963. Prices start at around £150 and can range right the way up to over £1,000 if they are genuine from that time.
