Owners of popular Doh'hut open new gourmet sandwich shop in Leeds - and fans go crazy

A brand new gourmet sandwich shop has opened its doors in Leeds.

Things In Bread has opened in Boar Lane and the sandwiches served are said to "take something familiar and make it better". The eatery was launched by owners of popular donut shop Doh'hut, based in Trevelyan Square.

Doh'hut was first a food truck business before expanding into premises and won the 2018 British Street Food Awards and scooped the ‘Best Dessert’ gong in the European Street Food Awards. After being rated five star, and serving award-winning donuts, the owners decided to expand their premises in Leeds and serve lunch options too.

Things In Bread opened on January 6, and has proven to be popular already. The business sold out of sandwiches before 11am at the soft launch and before 1pm at the launch. After the soft launch, Things In Bread owners said: "Thanks to those who came down for the wee soft launch. Sorry for those who missed out on sandwiches and we ran out of bread by 11...which is crazy."

The classic sandwiches made to order using their signature freshly baked bread. Owners say the bread is specially created to make the best ever sandwich, crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, perfectly square and baked fresh on the daily.

Sandwiches will be served on a signature Shokupan Milk Loaf and include fillings such as bacon, lettuce, and tomato, roast chicken salad, egg and cress, and many more. Inside the venue, the sandwiches are served deli-style, and there is also a 'things in fridge' area where there are a selection of drinks to choose from.

Things In Bread is open Tuesday to Sunday every week from 8am until 4pm.
