Police are investigating the owner of a stray pitbull that mauled a British gran to death days after she found the animal starving and took him in.
Four days after taking the dog to her holiday home in Valencia, Spain, Anne Shields, 67, sustained "catastrophic" head and arm injuries after the dog suddenly turned on her.
Police had to shoot the animal to rescue the kind-hearted woman, a mum-of-one and former security guard, who tragically died in hospital on February 24.
