The Dark One, the high fantasy series’ primary villain, was seemingly defeated by Rand al’Thor – aka the Dragon Reborn – at the Eye of the World in the season 1 finale; his Trolloc forces beaten by a combination of Aes Sedai and the kingdom of Fal Dara. So, the world was safe once more, right?
