Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder by detectives searching for student nurse who vanished nearly a month ago.
Owami Davies, 24, left her family home in Grays, Essex, and was last seen just after midnight on Derby Road in West Croydon on July 7.
Miss Davies’s relatives have not heard from her and she hasn’t attended work, the Metropolitan Police said.
Detectives from the force’s Specialist Crime Command have taken over the case because they have the resources and expertise required for a complex investigation.
Officers stressed it remains a missing person’s probe.
Two men, aged 23 and 27, were detained in the Croydon area and remain in custody at a south London police station.
Detective Constable Marie Spear said: “Owami was in a vulnerable state when she was last seen and we need the public’s help in piecing together her movements on the night she went missing.
“I would urge anyone who has seen her, or knows where she is, to contact police immediately.
“I’d also ask people in the west Croydon area to check their sheds and outbuildings and report anything suspicious or out of the ordinary.”
