An overeager cop punched a suspected burglar and pushed a handcuffed woman to the floor in Tesco, a misconduct panel heard.

PC Henry Green and a colleague were called to reports of three people who were spotted in a Tesco store in Hull, just before 11.30am on June 6, 2019, and who were suspected of burglary.

PC Green has admitted "leg-sweeping" a suspected burglar to the ground and punching another suspect in the face - but says he did so because he feared for his safety.
