More than a quarter (28%) of nicotine users tend to avoid travelling by plane – as over half of the airports in the UK now have complete bans on smoking and vaping in place after security, research has found.
Of the 23 airports in the country, only 11 have a designated area for smokers or e-cigarette users to light up after their carry-on luggage has been scanned.
This means nicotine users could be forced to go without for several hours prior to take-off – potentially longer if there’s a delay – in addition to the time spent in the air.
