Over a fifth of young people have never discussed money at home with their family

England footballer Marcus Rashford has teamed up with NatWest to help young people feel more financially confident – by encouraging discussions about money both at home and at school.

A survey of 1,000 young adults, aged 16-21, found that just over one in ten (12%) had frequent discussions at home about money – with over a fifth saying they never discussed it at all with their family.

Instead, the more frequent “difficult” topics of conversation included drugs (24%), religion (24%), and relationships (29%).
