Recent Israeli strikes in Lebanon and northern Gaza have led to a significant loss of life, with more than 80 people reported dead since late Saturday. The National News Agency (NNA) documented airstrikes in various locations, including Almat and Mashghara in Lebanon. In Almat, 20 individuals, including three children, lost their lives as a result of the attacks, which left buildings destroyed and heavy machinery clearing debris.
Furthermore, the town of Debaal in southern Lebanon was targeted, with ongoing artillery shelling in Khiam. The strikes are part of Israel's intensified campaign against Hezbollah, resulting in a total of 2,513 deaths and 11,719 injuries in Lebanon since September 16.
Notably, a civil defense center in Deir Qanoun was hit, claiming 17 lives, while additional strikes occurred in Hanawaih and other locations. The Israeli military confirmed these actions, stating that dozens of Hezbollah members were eliminated.
In a separate incident, northern Gaza experienced tragedy as Israeli strikes on residential homes in Jabalya and Gaza City resulted in at least 41 fatalities, including numerous children. The dire situation in Gaza has raised concerns about potential famine, as aid shipments have significantly decreased in recent months.
Amidst these events, the United States has urged Israel to improve humanitarian conditions in Gaza within a specified timeframe. The World Health Organization's report on food availability in Gaza underscores the urgent need for increased aid to prevent a looming crisis.
As tensions persist in the region, international organizations continue to monitor the situation closely, emphasizing the importance of protecting civilian lives amidst escalating violence.
