CHANDIGARH: Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh and Desh Bhagat Radio in collaboration with The Himalayan Foundation organised a Cyclothon "Tour de City" on Sunday.
The cyclothon started from Sector 16 cricket stadium at 6.30 am and over 500 persons registered for it.
Divyasnsh Gupta, President, The Himalayan Foundation, welcomed Ram Gopal, DSP, CID, Chandigarh as the chief guest, and Dr Sandeep Singh, President, Desh Bhagat University and Radio, Karnail Singh Ahhi, former District and Session Judge, as special guest of the event.
Dr Sandeep Singh, President, DBU, said that this initiative by DBU and The Himalayan Foundation has been really popular among the youth. Cycling is a great medium to stay fit and DBU is promoting the notion of ‘Healthy Mind Resides in a Healthy Body’ through the cyclothon. Rohan Kapoor, chairperson, The Himalayan Foundation, said gave a prize to the winner.
