Over 40 North East coast venues taking part in gin treasure trail - here’s how to join in

A treasure hunt with a twist is coming to the region this month - and it’s all about enjoying a tipple at some of the best-loved venues along the North East coast.

Beginning on July 23, the competition will see people complete a treasure map as they make their way through Tynemouth , Whitley Bay , Seaton Sluice and several other spots. The aim of the game will be to tick off as many places as possible on the map - but you’ll need to have a few drinks in order to do it.

The treasure hunt has been set up by the North East team behind St Mary’s Premium Spirits, named after the famous Whitley Bay lighthouse. Owned by husband-and-wife duo Martin and Julie Summers, local company Clarence Spirits sells their own brands of gin, vodka and rum in dozens of venues across the region.
