Over 2.9 Million Florida Utility Customers Without Power

As of 6:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, more than 2.9 million utility customers in Florida were facing power outages, a decrease from the earlier count of over 3.3 million. The majority of these outages are concentrated in counties along Florida's Gulf Coast.

In Hillsborough County, which encompasses Tampa, over 507,000 customers are without power, representing 71.6% of the county's total customer base. Similarly, in neighboring Pinellas County, which includes Clearwater and St. Petersburg, more than 404,000 customers are currently experiencing service disruptions, accounting for 71.2% of the county's total customers.

Highlands County, located in the state's interior, is facing the highest percentage of customers without power, with a staggering 93% of customers affected, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
