Aftermath of Hurricane Otis

As of 4 p.m. on Friday, more than 2.1 million customers in Florida are still without power, a significant decrease from the over 3.3 million reported on Thursday morning, according to PowerOutage.us. Additionally, approximately 60% of customers in Manatee County, located south of Hillsborough County, are currently facing power disruptions.

Duke Energy has reported that more than 750,000 of its customers in Florida are currently experiencing outages, adding to the widespread impact of the power loss across the state. The aftermath of the recent severe weather conditions has left a significant portion of the population grappling with the challenges posed by the lack of electricity.

Efforts are underway to restore power to the affected areas, with utility companies working diligently to address the outages and bring relief to customers. The restoration process may take time due to the extent of the damage caused by the weather event, but crews are working around the clock to resolve the situation as quickly and safely as possible.

Residents are advised to exercise caution during this time and to stay informed about updates from their local utility providers. It is crucial for individuals to prioritize their safety and well-being while awaiting the restoration of power in their communities.
