Lebanese Health Minister Firass Abiad has reported that at least 170 individuals injured in the recent explosions in Lebanon are currently in critical condition. The injuries sustained by the majority of these individuals are concentrated in the abdomen, hand, and face, with a particular focus on the eye area.
During a news conference in Beirut, Abiad highlighted that numerous hospitals in southern Lebanon are facing challenges as they have surpassed their capacity due to the influx of injured individuals seeking medical attention. Over 100 hospitals across Lebanon, primarily located in the southern suburbs of Beirut, southern Lebanon, and the Beqaa valley, have been receiving and treating the injured.
In response to the escalating situation, the Lebanese Ministry of Health issued an urgent call for health workers to report to duty promptly. This call was made in light of the significant number of injured individuals being transported to hospitals following the tragic explosions. Additionally, officials have urged the public to donate blood in preparation for the anticipated surge in demand for blood supplies.
