MUMBAI: More than 1.8 lakh candidates from across Maharashtra will take the undergraduate NEET on Sunday afternoon. Officials from the National Testing Agency (NTA) have advised candidates to reach the exam centres well in time as gates would be closed at 1.30 pm latest for the exam scheduled to begin at 2 pm.
Candidates have also been asked to carry two copies of their four-page admit card and on completion of the test, they must hand over the OMR sheet (original and office copy) to the invigilator. No part of the test booklet and OMR sheet must be detached. The exam will be held from 2 pm to 5.20 pm.

Parent representative Sudha Shenoy said that every year a few candidates miss taking the test as they do not reach the centre in time. “Under no circumstance do centres allow entry after the gates are closed. Also, some candidates have exam centres that are far from their residence. They must reach their designated centre well before time; I would say, get to your centre by 1 pm,” said Shenoy. She also added that many invigilators do not distribute the question papers 5 minutes before the start of the paper as informed to them by the NTA. “Invigilators must realise that candidates are taking a very competitive test and every minute counts.”
Mobile phones are not permitted, only a transparent water bottle is allowed in the test centre, apart from the essential documents enlisted by the NTA.
