Sam Heughan has opened up about his love life and revealed he is 'still looking' for someone special.
The Balmaclellan-born actor, 43, is currently starring in the rom-com Love Again alongside Priyanka Chopra and Celine Dion as she makes her acting debut. Sam, who has starred as Jamie Fraser in the hit show Outlander since 2013, is a self-confessed 'romantic at heart'.
Speaking to People about his new movie, the actor gave fans an insight into his dating life. He told the publication: "I've done all of the gift-giving and turning up when least expected, but, so far, I'm still looking."
The Scots actor usually remains pretty tight-lipped about his love life but was photographed kissing model Monika Clarke in New York City last year. During an appearance on the Drew Barrymore show, Sam was asked to dish on his dating life as he seemed to prioritise his career over love.
He told Drew: "I never said that I don't think. The job is so all-encompassing and we spend so much time on set and at work. But I'm open to something. I'm not sure what I'm saying I'm open for, but I'm open."
Sam is best known for his portrayal of Jamie Fraser in Outlander alongside Caitriona Balfe as his on-screen wife Claire. The time-travelling show is most known for the passionate love between Jamie and Claire, and Sam believes that's something people 'aspire to'.
When asked if love like theirs can be real, he told Parade in 2019: “I think there is, and I think we all aspire to it. I think it’s something that we all aspire to and aim for so, yeah, I would like to think it’s real and I’d like to think that one day I could have that myself.”
