Outlander star Graham McTavish admits playing a Bond villain would be a 'dream come true'.
The Glasgow -born actor is best known for his role as Dougal Mackenzie in the Outlander series and Dwalin in The Hobbit trilogy, but is setting his sights on something different now.
The 61-year-old actor is currently filming the second season of Starz hit Men in Kilts with Outlander co-star Sam Heughan, who plays Highland warrior Jamie Mackenzie.
In an interview in this month’s Scottish Field magazine, McTavish said: “In terms of film, I would love to be a Bond villain.
“That would be a massive dream come true. I would pretty much retire at that point."
It comes as his Men in Kilts co-star Sam Heughan remains one of the bookies favourites to play the iconic 007 spy.
McTavish also discussed what's on his bucket list, and the Scots actor had one risky activity at the top.
As reported in Deadline, he revealed: “Going into a shark cage (when asked what’s on his bucket list).
“Sharks are one of my absolute terrors. There is something to be said for confronting fear and abseiling in Men In Kilts was a real moment of confronting a fear and overcoming it.
“It keeps you feeling engaged with the world.
“Other than that I’d like to write my own historical fiction. I have a couple of ideas brewing."
McTavish opened up about some of the worst jobs he did before landing his big acting break, as the star look on some pretty unglamorous work.
“The worst job I ever did was working in a microwave factory, screwing the backs onto microwave ovens all day," he added.
“I was also a cycle courier in London for a year and a half. There were no helmets, you were just living by your wits.
“You were constantly being attacked by white van drivers. They seemed intent on killing me.”
