Sam Heughan has named his favourite person behind the scenes on Outlander and it's not who you might expect.
The Scottish star, who plays Jamie Fraser, was speaking to The Cultural Coven podcast host Nicola Ray when the question came up.
According to Cheatsheet.com, the Scot was quick to pick out his makeup artist, Wendy Kemp Forbes, the person responsible for helping to turn his naturally blonde hair red in the earlier seasons of the show.
The talented MUA is also responsible for Sam's wigs and helping to age him up as each season goes on.
Speaking about the process he goes through each day, Sam said: "I think the worst part is the makeup and hair.
"I have the most amazing hair and makeup person, I couldn’t do it without her.
"Number one, she’s just so fun and brilliant. It sort of gets sprackled. Your face gets covered in makeup every day and mud and blood. Despite washing copious times, you go to bed.
"In the morning, you wake up, still there’s fake mud and blood on your sheets. You’re like what happened last night?"
When asked about his connection to Wendy, he added: "Wendy is kind of my sister, my shoulder to lean on, to cry on.
“She sort of keeps me going, I keep her going. I just couldn’t do it without her.”
And when you see the results, particularly Jamie's scars you realise just how talented an artist she is and her bond with Sam clearly helps too.
