Outlander star Sam Heughan is upset after his charity fundraising Instagram account was hacked and deleted.
Sam, 41, founded the 'My Peak Challenge' to help others grow and achieve their goals with the ethos to 'help yourself while helping others', and has raised millions since being founded.
The Dumfries born actor is best known for his role as Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in Outlander, but off screen Sam is dedicated to his MPC venture helping fans across the globe achieve their goals.
The Scots actor shared to Instagram yesterday that the account had been deleted, he wrote: "I'm so angry and upset.
"Some a****** has hacked and deleted our MPC account.
"Why would someone do this to a charity fundraiser?!!
"Why??????
"We will be back up and running ASAP. X"
The organisation began back in 2015 after Sam askeed his fans to challenge themselves whilst raising money for charity, and has grown ever since.
Sam unfortunately had to warn fans on Instagram tonight as fake accounts are now circulating, pretending to be his MPC account.
He said: "Please do not follow any MPC account.
"I will announce when we are up and running. Very soon!"
Fans took to Twitter to spread the word and warn others about the fake accounts circulating impersonating Sam's fundraising account.
One warned: " #SamHeughan posted this about 25 minutes ago. Please heed his warning. #mypeakchallenge #MPC2022 "
Another wrote: " @SamHeughan @MyPeakChallenge I am so sorry for all this!! It is realy sad for all of your MPC- TEAM MEMBERS !!"
Another penned: "Sam will announce when @MyPeakChallenge Instagram is up & running..don't fall for fake accounts!!"
Someone else warned: "I had a feeling we'd see fake MPC accounts pop up after the real one was hacked. Please report and block mypeakchallenge2021 on Insta and share with your friends! This one is asking for donations to be made to a Gmail account."
