Caitriona Balfe has hilariously shown off the terrifying gift given to her by her Outlander co-star.
The Irish star, who plays Claire Fraser on the hit show, shared a gif of the mug given to her by Ned Dennehy as a memento of their time together on seasons 5 and 6.
Fellow Irish actor Ned played the villainous Lionel Brown, who torments Claire in season 5, leading to him eventually kidnapping and raping her with his gang.
In season 6, he returns as a manifestation of her trauma at his hands, appearing as a spectre and the voice of her PTSD, leading to her self medicating with an early form of anaesthetic.
Though the pair shared a heavy storyline, Ned couldn't help but poke fun at his co-star with the gift of a terrifying mug that is emblazoned with lionel's creepy visage.
Hilariously it even features the note: "I love Lionel cause he's lovely."
Seeing the funny side, Cait added: "When Co-stars gift. Thanks, Ned Dennehy…. (Too soon???)"
Responding to her post, the official Outlander channel added: "Oh... my... god."
Before writing in a retweet: "Simultaneously amazed and terrified. Ned Dennehy is a legend."
While Lauren Lyle tweeted some concerned face emojis in response.
One fan wrote: "OMG! That mug has to be the scariest I've ever seen..it's enough to put you off your day altogether."
While another added: "Yikes that is quite a mug. And Ned has quite a mug himself!"
