SILENCE descended over parliament and tears fell as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese made an emotional tribute to Lance Corporal Jack Fitzgibbon on Thursday.

The son of former Labor Hunter MP and defence minister Joel Fitzgibbon died after a tragic parachute accident during Australian Defence Force (ADF) special forces training on March 7.
