Hello and welcome to your Tuesday evening instalment of the ECHO's 'Our Liverpool' feature.
In this twice daily round-up, we'll be showcasing some of the best ECHO content, as well as many of the major talking points on Merseyside. In a bid to beat the winter blues, we'll also share some more light-hearted snippets. I'm Jess, a writer on the What's On team with a slight obsession with books, fashion, film, and dogs.

Tuesday is, in my opinion, the worst day of the week. It's such a "nowhere" day - it's not manic Monday, which you've likely mentally prepared for, it's not the middle, and it's not the downward slide to the blissful weekend. It just delays all the best bits of the week.
Still, there's plenty of action in Merseyside to help brighten this bottom-of-the-barrel weekday. If there's anything you want us to shout about this week, then please do let us know (*cough* kindly *cough*) in the comments section.
'Stunning' restaurant's closure
A popular restaurant that boasts "stunning" coastal views has shut up shop. Sheldrakes in Heswall has been around for years and is massively popular due to its "stunning" panoramic views of North Wales and the Dee Estuary.
The building housed a sailing club in the 1980s before it was renovated and turned into a restaurant, as well as occasional wedding venue. Owner Helen Demetrios has announced she has taken the decision to close Sheldrakes after running the restaurant for two decades. Helen called her time as its owner a "great privilege" and said it was her "proudest achievement." You can read the full story here.
'Amazing' dad's death just hours after 'joking around' with family
ECHO reporter James McNeill covered the devastating news that an "amazing" dad had died suddenly, just hours after joking around with his family.
Sam Mercer, 35, snapped his femur in December and on Valentine's Day (February 14) he had surgery to fix the problem. He had been recuperating at his home in Crosby when he died suddenly on Sunday, February 19.
His brother Tom said Sam was "recovering well" before getting a call on Sunday evening to find out was being taken to hospital. By the time Tom arrived at Sam's house, he had already died. You can read the full story here.
It's official: some names never go out of style
Names often come in and out of style, but according to new research, there's 15 that consistently stand the test of time.
Choosing a name for a new baby can be a lot of pressure, with names required to suit a cute toddler to a potentially angsty teen, to a successful, working adult and beyond. In recent years, there's been a resurgence of classic and stereotypically "old fashioned" names becoming favoured once more, while TV show and film characters also have their influence on chosen monikers.

Our ECHO photographers captured this image of Real Madrid fans enjoying their time in Liverpool ahead of tonight's match. The Reds take on Real Madrid this Tuesday evening in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 encounter at Anfield.
