Today the Royal Albert Dock looks a little different as the Floating Earth was put in place in the water ahead of its official opening tomorrow. It's not the first time the artwork has been in Liverpool, but it is just one of many plans that will see the docks and the Waterfront transformed ahead of Eurovision.
Luke Jerram, the artist behind the installation, said to be able to present his artwork in the "special location" means a great deal to him, years after being inspired to become an artist during a visit to Tate Liverpool, opposite where his artwork will float.

Three Liverpool venues, including the Bombed Out Church, have been named among the best in the country and are now in the running for prestigious awards. The Bombed Out Church, The Titanic Hotel and Sunnyside Guest House in Southport are all in the running to win after being impressing VisitEngland.
