Hello and welcome to this morning's instalment of Our Liverpool; the ECHO's handy round-up of all the big news, sport and entertainment stories from across Merseyside.
As the ECHO's Women's Football Writer, I want to use today's digest to fill you in on what could prove to be a hugely decisive win in the context of Liverpool's Women's Super League season as well as of course sharing some of the other brilliant stories our team have served up this weekend.
But before that, I have to start by saying how blown away I was with the sky over Liverpool last night. Winter can be a bit of a bleak time so it’s always nice to see things starting to get brighter and our photographer Colin Lane was on hand to take some stunning pictures, like the one below.

Liverpool close in on WSL survival
With Liverpool's dismal start to 2023 in the Premier League, the Red half of Merseyside have had precious little to smile about in recent weeks. But things are on the up for the Women's team, who beat Reading 2-0 at Prenton Park to move up to eighth in the WSL table.
Goals from Missy Bo Kearns and Ceri Holland were enough to seal the three points for the Reds, who will take on bottom-of-the-table Leicester next weekend. You can read the full story here.
Group take control of old swimming baths site
Elsewhere, a group of activists are battling to show developers that an iconic old swimming bath site is not up for sale. The site of Lodge Lane Public Baths has been vacant since the building was demolished in 1996, six years after the facility closed during council cutbacks.
Once a vital part of the community, where generations learnt to swim, washed their clothes and played water polo, it was part of Liverpool's pioneering public health programmes when it opened in 1878. You can read the full story here.
Iconic Liverpool tailor shop
Our nostalgia writer Jess Molyneux has been taking a look at how an old-style tailor shop, that's welcomed generations through its doors, has been at the heart of the city-centre for decades.
In between Boodles and Yanni's on Lord Street, a corridor leads you up a flight of stairs to Made to Measure, a well-established business that's been in Liverpool 40 years. Owned by tailor Ian Hamilton-Doyle, from Anfield, the shop is "hard to find," but has built up a huge and loyal customer base across the generations that continues today.
