Our Liverpool: could the end of homelessness in our city be in sight

Hello and welcome to this morning's Our Liverpool.

I'm sure we'll all be welcoming the very small increase in temperatures today. Maybe Spring is finally coming along. Important news to note today is Liverpool Labour's expected announcement ahead of May's council elections of their plans to create a "zero-homelessness city" and help get people off the streets "for good."

Cllr Liam Robinson, leader of the party after Mayor Joanne Anderson, is expected to address members at the Big Help project on Friday just seven weeks before the all out elections coming to the council in May. Jennifer Roche could "light up a room" before she succumbed to bowel cancer in January. Only 34 when she died, Jennifer had made a pact with her friends and family to climb Snowdon this year, telling them she had a vision of herself on top of a mountain once her cancer treatment was all over.

Man's shock as Airbnb booking cancelled and re-advertised for £41K

A Eurovision fan was shocked when his £200-a-night Airbnb booking for the contest was cancelled then re-uploaded on the site for £41,000 a night. Callum Rowe, a university student, had booked the house for him and a group of friends in May.

He said the actions of their host devalued "what Eurovision is all about" and said he was surprised there wasn't more safeguards in place to stop these price-hikes for the contest.
