'Our home is surrounded by 30m trench after we were told we had a leak'

A family has been left with a gigantic 30-metre trench outside their home after they claim they were given the wrong advice by their water company about a leak.

Vincenzo and Lisa Pranzo said their experience with United Utilities was a "nightmare" after they followed the advice of an employee which turned out to be wrong, they claim.

They claim they were told 'yeah you've definitely got a leak'.
