Our govt. brought revolutionary changes in health sector: Jagan

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that revolutionary changes have been brought in the fields of health, education and agriculture, ensuring significant changes in the lifestyle of people.

During a review meeting on the Medical and Health Department, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that as a first step thousands of vacancies in the department had been filled up from village/ward clinics to teaching hospitals. Health facilities had also been augmented under the Naadu-Nedu scheme and bills under YSR Aarogyasri were being cleared. Money was being paid to patients discharged after getting treated at the teaching hospitals, he said.

“Our government has initiated massive and revolutionary changes in the health and education sectors. We are constructing 16 new teaching hospitals out of which work has begun for six. We are also providing medicines prescribed by the World Health Organisation. We have also appointed senior most officers as heads of the Medical and Education department . As the Chief Minister, I will set targets and it is the officials who should work to reach them. The team of officials and personnel should work hard to reach the goals,” said Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He inspected the new sign boards to be set up at the YSR Aarogyasri Health Care Trust hospitals and said that similar sign boards should be set up at all the hospitals.

COVID-19 situation

On COVID-19 situation, the officials explained that the daily positivity rate had dipped to 0.13% and there were just five cases in the State. The vaccination of those in the age group of 15-17 years was almost 100% completed while it was 94.47% completed for those in the age group of 14-17 years.

The Chief Minister enquired about the filling up of vacancies in the department and directed the officials to complete recruitment by May 31. He also said that a decision to ban private practice had been taken after salaries of doctors had been hiked.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of works under Naadu-Nedu, construction of village clinics, new Primary Health Clinics and new medical colleges.

The officials said that the construction of medical colleges was under progress at Pulivendula, Paderu, Machilipatnam, Piduguralla, Vizianagaram and Amalapuram.

Cleanliness

“Ensure that the entire hospital is clean. Even the toilets should be clean. If necessary, increase the procedures under Aarogyasri. I urge you to think of felicitating Arogya Mitra for their services,” said Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Minister for Health Vidadala Rajani, Chief Secretary Sameer Sharma, Secretary, Transport, M.T. Krishna Babu, Secretary, COVID-19 vaccination management, M. Ravichandra, CEO of Aarogyasri V. Vinaya Chand and MD of APMISDC D. Muralidhar Reddy were present.
