How to watch the Oscars ceremony live in UK
Sky TV
If you are already a Sky customer then you'll need to ensure you have the Sky Cinema package to be able to watch the Oscars. If you don't you can add it on with the Sky, Netflix and Cinema package for £37 a month.
Sky is also currently offering the top-of-the-range Sky Glass package free for the first three months. The package includes a Sky Glass 4K TV, Sky TV channels and Netflix, and customers will be paying £26 a month after the initial three months for a 48-month contract.
NOW TV
If you don't have Sky and are after something cheaper then NOW TV might be an option. The subscription service will also be airing the Oscars 2023 - film fans wishing to join the subscription service can choose from Sky Cinema packages for £9.99 or £12.99 a month and then cancel at any time.
VPN
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network and essentially it's a software that extends a private network across a public one, enabling users to send and receive data safely.
It creates a secure, encrypted tunnel for traffic whenever you head online. A VPN can not only be used to keep your data safe and private, but it can also allow you to make payments online safely, watch content that you wouldn't normally be able to and restrict who has access to your data.
If you use streaming services like Netflix, Disney+ or Amazon Prime then a VPN is essential as some place geographical restrictions on content, so shows that are available in one country like the US may not be available to watch in the UK. And it will also work for the Oscars too.
To ensure uninterrupted US coverage on the night, follow these useful steps to get watching:
Download a VPN server like ExpressVPN or NordVPN to your laptop, tablet, phone or other streaming device of your choice
Once in the VPN’s interface, select a US server
Head to any of the channels you want to watch and search for the Oscars 2023 (remember the time difference when watching from the UK)
Press play, sit back and get ready to celebrate with the stars.
