Halfway through Oscar Onley’s debut season with Netcompany-Ineos, it looked very much like 2026 was going to be a very, very damp squib for Scotland’s top road racer.
After signing with Netcompany-Ineos late last year having spent five seasons with his previous team, Picnic Post-NL, illness and injury hampered the opening months of Onley’s stint with his new team. Having been signed as a leader, Onley’s early season results did not match the potential he had shown in 2025, with a fourth place finish in last summer’s Tour de France a particular highlight of last season.
