Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. caused fans some brief concern on Monday when he wasn’t spotted at practice until late in the session.
But it turns out all is well for Brown, who aggravated a groin injury two weeks ago during the win over the Seahawks before the bye.
According to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic, Brown told reporters he’ll be good to go for next Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Monday was effectively a bonus day of rest before practice really ramps up later in the week.
While Cody Ford stepped in nicely for the Bengals on an emergency basis against the Seahawks, they’ll need their big free-agent acquisition from this past summer to step up against Nick Bosa and a talented 49ers defense.
The first big measure of Brown’s status will happen Wednesday when the team puts out its first official injury report since before the bye week.
