Orioles owner David Rubenstein delivered a blunt, 2-word message to fans

The Baltimore Orioles have already been eliminated from the 2024 MLB playoffs after losing the Wild Card series to the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night.

Team owner David Rubenstein didn’t seem all that upset about it, at least not as he addressed fans while leaving Camden Yards after the game.

Baltimore Banner investigative reporter Justin Fenton reported on Rubenstein’s quick message to fans: “Next year.”

The franchise hasn’t won a World Series since 1983, which makes Rubenstein’s message sting all the more for Orioles fans.

After you come up short once again when expectations were high for success, fans do not want to hear “next year” from the person who owns the team.

Maybe Rubenstein meant this in a supportive way, as to signify that the team will be back and ready next year. However, you can’t blame Orioles fans if they don’t exactly take this well after yet another postseason exit.

At least Rubenstein’s message on Twitter (X) was more thorough and considerate?
