A woman has shared a useful hack for doing the housework that saves time when it comes to dusting your surfaces.
Getting rid of dust is potentially one of the most irritating things about cleaning your home. No matter how often you do it, it's often not long before the layers start to creep up again, and it can make your home look dirty and uncared for.
As well as this, using a cloth or duster often just means you're spreading it around instead of eliminating it altogether. Fortunately, there's an easy way around this, as one lifestyle content creator has shared on social media.
Self-confessed organising and cleaning expert Jen Watson has racked up a loyal following of over 75,000 followers on her TikTok account @organizedandsimplified4u thanks to her useful tips on cleaning and sorting out your home.
One of her most popular videos, which has harnessed over two million views, focuses on 10 simple cleaning hacks that you might not have been aware of.
In this clip, she detailed how to save time when dusting those hard-to-reach places like the tops of your kitchen cabinets - and all you need is a couple of sheets of newspaper to eliminate the process entirely.
She demonstrates laying a few sheets down on top of the high shelving in her kitchen to make dusting easier.
The dust then gathers on the newspapers' surface, and then all you need to do is carefully remove the sheets and dispose of them - leaving the cabinets dust-free.
And because they're so high up, the newspaper isn't visible at all - making it the perfect sneaky hack for a clean home.
Some of the other tips in the video included using a long microfibre mop to clean high up on the walls and ceilings, using baby oil to buff stainless steel surfaces like your fridge, and mixing lemon and baking soda to remove rust from your kitchen utensils.
In the video's comments, people were full of praise for Jen's hacks and many couldn't believe they hadn't thought of them before.
"The newspaper hack is amazing!" someone said.
Another commented: "I'm amazed! Wow I thought I was cleaning but this is game-changing."
And a third said: "#1 is brilliant. I am putting paper on top of my fridge tonight! Thank u!"
