Oregon's wildfire smoke advisory has widened from a handful of counties to most of the state, and the guidance it carries assumes equipment that many households do not own.
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, the Lane Regional Air Protection Agency and the Southwest Clean Air Agency issued an advisory covering the Portland-Vancouver metro area along with Baker, Benton, Columbia, Crook, Deschutes, eastern Douglas, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Hood River, Jefferson, central and eastern Lane, Linn, Malheur, Marion, Morrow, Polk, Sherman, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Wasco, Wheeler and Yamhill counties. The agencies said the advisory will last until further notice. It reaches 27 of Oregon's 36 counties.
