PTT Oil and Retail Business Plc (OR) is developing its non-oil business by opening a drive-through service for Ohkajhu, the organic salad restaurant, at its petrol station in Nonthaburi.
Ohkajhu operator Pluk Phak Praw Rak Mae Co sold a 20% share in the company to OR in 2021.
Suchat Ramarch, president of OR, said the drive-through service adds a food distribution channel for Ohkajhu.
The drive-through service opened on Feb 2 inside OR's PTT Station at West Village in Nonthaburi's Bang Yai district.
After partnering with OR, Ohkajhu expanded its business by opening its first restaurant inside PTT Station at Active Park in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi.
It also sells food through Cafe Amazon, a coffeehouse brand owned by OR, at 45 branches. This year Ohkajhu plans to increase its service to 100 Cafe Amazon branches.
Ohkajhu started its business in the northern province of Chiang Mai and has quickly branched out, with 18 outlets nationwide.
Organic vegetables are sent to the restaurants from farms operated by Ohkajhu.
OR and Ohkajhu aim to synergise their expertise to further grow their food business. While Ohkajhu can benefit from OR's network of petrol stations and its coffee brand, the oil retailer can continue to develop its non-oil business.
Mr Suchat said the partnership with Ohkajhu aligns with OR's inclusive growth policy, which aims to help businesses run by startups and small and medium-sized enterprises overcome hindrances and enjoy good business outcomes together.
He said OR plans to increase the proportion of earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation from non-oil and overseas businesses to 45% by 2025, up from 25% last year.
Up to 65% of OR's capital spending worth 74.6 billion baht from 2023 to 2025 will go to non-oil and overseas businesses, according to OR.
