OPINION - Sacked British Museum curator denies stealing historic artefacts: Tech and Science Daily podcast

The son of a British Museum curator sacked after the disappearance of jewellery and gems says his father “hasn’t done anything” and is “devastated” to have lost his life’s work.

Greg Higgs has told journalists it “couldn’t have” been his dad, who has worked there for 35 years without incident, and his father has “lost his job and his reputation”.

Hurricane Hilary could be the first tropical storm to make landfall in Southern California since 1939, causing “significant and rare impacts”.

Weather watchers say it’s hitting sustained winds of near 145 miles per hour and is expected to intensify before it begins to weaken over the weekend.

They say the type of material used in the wristband makes a big difference with rubber and plastic ones more likely to harbour microbes than metal equivalents.
