Rachel Reeves and Jonathan Reynolds have made me feel like a right d***head this week. Over the past six days, the Chancellor and Business Secretary have both been caught lying on their respective CVs.
Reeves has come under fire (more aptly: endured a gentle singeing) for exaggerating the length of time she worked at the Bank of England, overstating it on both her LinkedIn and during interviews. Similarly, she’s also taken a little heat for declaring herself an “economist” when she really worked in retail banking.
