The betting odds for Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC against Michael Chandler signal an even matchup.
McGregor and Chandler will coach “The Ultimate Fighter 31” and are expected to square off after the taping of the show, which debuts May 30 on ESPN and ESPN+, with the conclusion of the season set for Aug. 15 after weekly episodes airing Tuesdays.
At DraftKings, the odds for McGregor vs. Chandler opened up even, with both men at -110, meaning a $110 bet would be needed on either to return $100.
McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) is coming back from a broken leg suffered in a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. The Irish superstar has lost three of his past four, with his most recent victory coming in January 2020 against Donald Cerrone.
Chandler (23-8 MMA, 2-3 UFC) also will look to rebound. The former three-time Bellator lightweight champion, who has been gunning to fight McGregor, is coming off a submission loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 281 this past November. Prior to that he scored a Knockout of the Year contender against Tony Ferguson at UFC 274.
The fight between McGregor and Chandler could happen at lightweight or welterweight. No decision has been made.
