Multiple contractors working on OpenAI-related AI training projects were fired or removed from assignments after using AI in work where its use was explicitly prohibited, according to an investigation by 404 Media published in September.
The contractors were tasked with reviewing, rating and critiquing AI outputs, including ChatGPT responses, while rules required them to rely on their own judgement.
