GUWAHATI: Scarcity of household tap water in northeastern villages remains the biggest concern for the Centre's mission to connect all rural households with tap water by 2024 under the Jal Jeevan Mission even as the region observed World Water Day on Tuesday.
Residents of four out of seven northeastern states, Assam, Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya, are struggling with less than 50% household water as the water level has gone down for lack of rain.
