One-time pal of Christy Kinahan steps away from crime to wed new love

A one-time pal of Christy Kinahan has stepped away from the fast life of crime as he is set to wed his new love.

Three years on from being blasted outside a shop in west Dublin, Noel Boylan is dedicating himself to his partner.

Gardai had feared an outbreak of violence from Noel's associates after the convicted armed robber was targeted near a Lidl store on the Blakestown Road, Blanchardstown, on June 1, 2019.

Noel - who was officially warned by gardai there was an active threat on his life after the incident - was hit in the arm and chest.

But pals - who also call him "Seanie" - say he is no longer interested in the underworld scene and is set to get married next year.

And he follows his son Lee Boylan, who was shot a number of times along the same road just three months before his dad, who is engaged to his own long-time girlfriend from Dublin's inner city.

A source said: "Both Noel and Lee had their difficulties, both were shot within months of each other and Lee had a very long recovery process.

"But Noel's friends now claim he's on the straight and narrow and is just getting on with life with his partner."

After Noel was the victim of the shooting incident, he went to ground and investigators handed him a Garda Information Message warning him there was an active threat on his life. He has not come to major garda attention since.

We can also reveal a new picture of Noel, also known to pals as "Seanie", donning a bushy beard and pearly white teeth as he was spotted on a recent trip to Lanzarote, Spain.

Boylan was previously considered by gardai as a well-connected and serious player in west Dublin.

Noel was previously caged for his role in an attempted armed robbery in 2006.

The Clonsilla native was once a known associate of exiled cartel boss Christy Kinahan.

He has also been associated with a number of gangland figures over the years who have been involved in local feuds.

A man is before the courts charged with attempted murder following Noel Boylan's shooting.
