An 18-year-old woman has been been taken into Chicago police custody in connection with the stabbing death of a 16-year-old girl in the Loop after officials were contacted by a pastor of a West Side church who told them the suspect wanted to turn herself in, according to a police report.
The woman remained in custody as of Thursday afternoon. Earlier, Chicago police announced charges in the case but have since said that was done in error.
