More recent fans of the Boston Celtics likely do not remember the time when New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady teamed up with the Celtics to try and convince star Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant to join Boston’s roster in pursuit of a title.
As history has since born out, that effort was unfortunately a fruitless one with the star swingman instead electing to join the Golden State Warriors, extending their dynasty in the 2010s with his lethal shooting and length. But for a brief moment in time, it seemed to fans like a major coup might be in the works with Brady’s help pushing the Celtics over the top.
