On-loan Everton goalkeeper Harry Tyrer couldn’t contain his joy as his Chester side ended Scarborough Athletic’s 26-match unbeaten home record.
The 3-1 victory moved Calum McIntyre’s men four points off the top of the National League North table and came just four days after a 2-0 win at Farsley Celtic. Second-half strikes from Kole Hall and Charlie Caton put the Seals in control of the contest.
And even though Ryan Watson pulled one back for the hosts with 22 minutes of normal time remaining, Kurt Willoughby fired home a third in stoppage time to seal all three points for McIntyre’s side. The goal was the forward’s 17th of the season.

And following the full-time whistle, Tyrer couldn’t resist heading over to the Chester supporters who had made the journey to North Yorkshire to celebrate the win with them. The Everton man was then mobbed by supporters as they chanted his name.
Tyrer, from Crosby, is on a season-loan loan at Chester having been with Everton since the age of seven. Tyrer made his maiden first-team appearance in a pre-season friendly against Preston North End in September 2020 and has been in and around the first-team set-up since.
Speaking on the signing of Tyrer in the summer, Chester boss McIntyre said: “I am really pleased to bring Harry to the club. He has an enormous pedigree.
“He has been on the bench for a Premier League club 17 times. I think that speaks volumes. The way Everton speak about him tells you how highly rated he is there.
“He has really impressed performance wise, but I knew that because we do our due diligence on players we bring in. But he is a really good character and personality. It makes us stronger in the goalkeeping department.”
