Omonia boss claims Sir Alex Ferguson would be 'happy' with Manchester United dropped points

Alex Ferguson Omonia Neil Lennon Manchester Europa League Erik ten Hag FC Sheriff Real Sociedad Celtic

Omonia manager Neil Lennon has claimed Sir Alex Ferguson might be 'happy' to see Manchester United draw against his side.

Although United began their Europa League campaign with a defeat against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford earlier this month, they bounced back to win 2-0 against FC Sheriff in Chisinau last week thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo. United will play Omonia next in the Europa League group stage (on October 6th) and the Cypriot side is managed by former Celtic boss Neil Lennon.

Both Lennon and Ferguson are Scottish and the pair have developed a strong relationship over the years. Lennon recently did an interview with the Scottish Sun ahead of United's match against Omonia in which he lavished the praise on Ferguson.
